The American romance comedy High Fidelity is canceling just after season one Stars confirmed the news last week.
The gender bender series if based on the best-selling book from 1995 by Nick Hornby, which also hit a big cinema in 2000. The 2000 movie starred by John Cusack and Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet. The film got the right critics which motivated to create series later in 2019-20.
The series is from Disney, which initially supposed to be on Disney+. But because of adult scenes, the authorities decided to launch High Fidelity on Hulu on 14th February 2024.
Later Kravitz shared interest in releasing more seasons further. “I think there’s a lot more growing to do for everybody and a lot more trouble to get into. There’s a lot of places we could go, and I would love to go there”, she stated.
Nick Hornby, the book writer, said in a Rolling Stone interview, “I don’t think anyone who has read and loved the book and/or seen and loved the movie could be disappointed with the series. I couldn’t be more proud of the show.”
Despite of show’s success, we couldn’t find a reason why the creators canceled the show.
Mindy Kaling tweeted, “Oh I loved #HighFidelity! This is sad news.”
Kravitz posted an Instagram post, creating hashtag in tribute to the show’s cancelation. Kravitz said “I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i’m in awe of all of you. and thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us. #breakupsucks”
Zoe Kravitz, the show also stars Jack Lacy, Da’ vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rainbow Sun Franks, and Edmund Donovan. The series is created by Sarah Kucserka and Veronica West, who also known for Ugly Betty (2006), Hart Dixie (2011), and Bull (2017-18).In the series, Kravits is a pop music-obsessed record store owner, Rob. Rob struggles with life in her relationship status.
