Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott’s to be honoured with commemorative coin

It marks 70 years for the reason that musician’s beginning

A coin commemorating Skinny Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott is being launched by Eire’s Central Financial institution.

Lynott, who performed bass and sang lead vocals within the celebrated Dublin band from 1969 till his demise in 1986, is to be remembered with the issuing of three,000 particular cash at a face worth of €15.

President Michael D Higgins will unveil the coin on this Tuesday, November 26 at St Kevin’s School, Crumlin, Dublin, which is Lynott’s former faculty.

The transfer marks 70 years since Lynott’s beginning. The musician died on the age of 36 after contracting pneumonia and struggling organ failure.

Different tributes to Lynott have been made over time together with his mom, Philomena, who had a statue of her son erected in Dublin metropolis centre, simply off Grafton Avenue, in 2005.

In different information, final month Skinny Lizzy’s founding guitarist Eric Bell branded Metallica a “pack of bastards” after the heavy metallic icons allegedly did not pay him for a gig.
