Diop said that the character has a “really innocent, pure, happy, unique thing about her,” which she tried to bring to her portrayal, and enjoyed performing an alien because of her migration from Senegal to the United States at an initial age.

An empath born to a vampire father and mortal mother. At first understanding little of her ancestors and techniques, Rachel’s skills lead her to Dick and finally becoming a part of the new Titans. Croft remarked that Rachel’s bond with Dick is “more of a father-daughter relationship” since they “share the equivalent feeling of abandonment.”

A shapeshifter who formed the power to convert into animals from a medicine that cured him of harmful disease. Gar earlier lived with the Doom Patrol before meeting Dick’s Titans team. Potter explained Gar as making “light to the show” through “entertainment and happy moments.

In the first season, Rachel comes to Dick for protecting from threatening forces stalking her, which leads to them joining and teaming up with Kory and Gar. The team finally finds that Rachel is a target by her devil father, Trigon, who tries to control the world. The season also represents Dick’s attempts to distance himself from his coach and his Robin persona, while Kory fights with a bout of amnesia that leaves the blind of her true identity.
The second season is about on the official transformation of the Titans as Dick leads a new team composed of Rachel, Gar, and Jason. The Titans’ return, however, leads to the feared assassin Deathstroke, whose earlier conflict with the original team caused their dispersing. As Deathstroke attempts to kill the heroes, the original Titans were a force to face him over. At the same time, other warnings arise from the evil Cadmus Laboratories and Kory’s younger sister Blackfire.
