It seems like Ramayana blessed Doordarshan Channel as it becomes the most viewed channel. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, all most all channels of Indian television industry fail to deliver new episodes. Doordarshan emerged as a godly savior and renewed shows like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktiman, and The Jungle Book.
From being lost due to the new age channels to becoming the most viewed channel all over again, Doordarshan proves ‘Nothing beats the original.’
Over the most recent fourteen days when the Ramanand Sagar show, initially a most loved from the 1980s, has been broadcast on DD, its space viewership- – 9 am and 9 pm- – has grown multiple times. The other Hindu epic, the Mahabharat- – 12 pm and 7 pm- – has helped the viewership flood by multiple times.
