Bollywood famouse choreographer Saroj Khan passed away on Friday morning. She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. After that, she complained about trouble in breathing. It was declared that choreographer Saroj Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest. She passed away at the age of 71. Last Saturday, she complained about the trouble caused by breathing. Mandatory COVID-19 tests were performed, but the results were negative.
“She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 1:52 am at the hospital,” her nephew Manish Jagwani and later Sukaina Khan confirmed it.
Choreographer Saroj Khan: Early Life
Saroj Khan remains a three-time National award winner. Over a 40-years of her career, she choreographed more than 2000 songs. And known as “The Mother of Dance/Choreographer.”
Many stars in Bollywood called her “Masterji.” She has a great career and received many achievements. Actress Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit were her most famous collaboration.
She received Filmfare best Choreography Award for a total of 8 movies. Once she went for a hat-trick at the Filmfare awards, consistently winning in a row for three years. She received Filmfare for the following movies:
- 1989 – Tezaab
- 1990 – Chaalbaaz
- 1991 – Sailaab for the song “Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar.”
- 1993 – Beta
- 1994 – Khalnayak
- 2000 – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
- 2003 – Devdas
- 2008 – Guru
American Choreographer Award awarded for Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India in 2002 to Saroj Khan. Saroj Khan awarded National Film Awards for Best Choreography for the following movies:
- 2003- Devdas
- 2006- Sringaram
- 2008- Jab We Met
