Cowboy Bebop is heading to Netflix after making headlines in the anime world. However, this isn’t your usual Netflix grab as per. The streaming giants are developing and working on the live-action remake of the thriller franchise. But in the year 2024, there isn’t any work possible until getting a typical COVID-19 interruption. Although after getting over that hurdle, the team brought in front of another big one.
At the most basic level, it’s a Space-Western set in the future. But Bebop is not content to be merely one genre, so there are dashes of multiple genres fusion at its best. Now it’s very topsy turvy as the phenomena of live-action is so controversial.
Fans of the original anime franchise are a little nervous because execution is difficult and complicated for such a production. Also, if not done with perfection, it might ruin the incredible legacy of the source manga series.
Current status of production for Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop:-
After plenty of obstacles along the way, it seems like the show is back on track. After the lengthy pandemic delay, we all were expecting a quick progression of filming but that didn’t happen. Shortly after resuming, the show went back into storage due to a major injury to one of the main cast members.
At the moment, the filming is all set to get back on set on September 30th, 2024. The scheduling poses the production to take place in New Zealand. The Island nation is one of the safest bubbles in the world in terms of dealing with pandemic. Three shows are exclusively holding the border exemption for filming. Lord of the Rings and Sweet Tooth are the other two.
Legacy of the iconic Japanese Manga series:-
Cowboy Bebop is a series that should need no introduction to anime fans. However, for anyone unfamiliar with the show, it’s basically about space bounty hunters set to a jazz music soundtrack with plenty of classic stories and dark morals along the way. If you like action, space, jazz, or comedy, you may like Cowboy Bebop. If you like old-time bounty hunter, private eye, or detective movies, you’ll probably like Cowboy Bebop.
