The raw historical drama, The Last Kingdom is going to release the fourth season soon. This series is originally based on Bernard Cornwell’s novel, The Saxon.
In the official Twitter handle of the series, the confirmation about the release of The Last Kingdom’s fourth season. As per the official announcement made by Netflix, the shoot for ten episodes has begun already. This news was announced in April 2019. In July, 2019 the show’s official handle in Instagram posted a picture with caption: “join Uhtred next year on Netflix as the battle continues”. This hints at us about the release of the fourth season in 2024. This show was firstly produced by BBC America but then it became a Netflix Originals after release of the third season.
The story of this series revolves around Uhtred, a successor of Saxon earldom, is raised by Danes. The Carnival Films is going to be back for producing the series.
The cast of the season 4 of The Last Kingdom is going to be similar with the previous three seasons.
Alexander Dreymon would be playing Uhtred, Toby Regbo would be Aethelred, Ian Hart would be Father Beocca, Timothy Innes is playing King Edward, Eliza Butterworth would be Aelswith, Emily Cox will be Brida, Millie Brady would be Aethelflaed, Mark Rowley would be Finan, Magnus Bruun would be Cnut, and Jeppe Beck Laursen would be Haesten in the fourth season. Many new characters are also added like Martini as Eadith, Jamie Blackley will be Eardwul. Innes would be King Edward, Eliza Butterworth would be, Aelswith Emily Cox would be Brida, Millie Brady would be Aethelflaed, Mark Rowley would be Finan, Magnus Bruun would be Cnut, and Jeppe Beck Laursen would be Hasten.
Stefanie Martini, Prime Suspect 1973 star is also going to join the cast with the character Eadith. Netflix has confirmed this news. “Aethelred’s new love conquest”. Jamie Beckly will also be joining as Aethelred’s right-hand man.
Even though there are no official trailers released yet, but the first looks and behind the scenes photos have been released to press by many cast members.
