Rishi Kapoor: The Legendary Indian Actor Passes Away at 67

The nation lost another bright star today and everyone is simply speechless. One of the most talented and versatile actors of his times, Rishi Kapoor passed away in H N Reliance hospital in Mumbai today.

Rishi Kapoor was suffering from bone marrow cancer and flew to New York City for the treatment right after diagnosis  in 2018. Later, he came back to India after spending more than a year there. Yesterday, he was admitted to the hospital (29th April)  due to a breathing problem.

The news about Rishi Kapoor not being well was doing rounds since yesterday. But, his close ones assured everyone that he was only a little unwell but there was nothing to worry about. This morning, the news of the sudden demise of the legendary actor has left us all shocked.

Later, his brother and actor Randheer Kapoor informed that Rishi Kapoor is no more.

Family and Personal life

Rishi Kapoor belonged to the prestigious Kapoor Family. He was the second son of Raj Kapoor. He proved to be one of the finest actors in India so far. Furthermore, he established a very strong individual identity and maintained it until the end.

Kapoor married actress Neetu Singh. They had a daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahani and their son Ranbir Kapoor is also a leading actor in the industry.

Rishi Kapoor as a person and an actor

He has always been known as a very loyal and humorous person. He was always fearless and clear about his opinions. Also, he made some really close friends in and outside the industry.

He is known as the evergreen actor of the industry. Rishi Kapoor was highly active and dedicated towards Indian cinema till he passed away. His most appreciated movies include Karz, Bobby, Do Dooni Char, Amar Akbar Anthony, Prem Rog, Chandni, and a lot more masterpieces. He received The National Award as a child artist for his debut film Mera Naam Joker.

 

Surely, Kapoor did not just prove himself as a romantic and commercial actor but also as a versatile artist. His films in his later years are proof of that.

In the new age cinema, Rishi Kapoor acted with almost all the lead actors and is respected by all of them for his personality and work. Some of his recent works are Kapoor and Sons, Agneepath, Mulk, Housefull 2, etc. One of his last works was 102 Not Out in which he acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
