Hasan also took this moment to thank the various people who’ve made his dream into a reality. These included the animators, the script-writers, the director and the camera crew, and those who researched these hard-hitting topics.
Why YOU need to binge this show?
Hasan Minhaj, in his specials and his on-camera interactions, shows us that he has a positive vision and a message that he wants to put across. Although It always seemed like he cared about informing viewers in different aspects of American culture, Immigrant experiences, etc. in a hilarious fashion. This show is all of that but with a lot more money behind it with creative freedom.
Interestingly, the show is as intelligent as it is humorous. Even when it deals with really heavy, real-world topics, like the US and Saudi Arabia relationship with Oil. Comparisons to the Daily Show are inescapable, as it’s the only show that comes close to doing the same job. But the clear distinctness in the age-group they appeal to is obvious, Hasan has made a show for teenagers and young people to involve and make them understand the systems they’ve grown up with.
The controversy surrounding the cancellation:-
Many fans have voiced strong opinions over their disagreement with Netflix’s decision. As we know, The US presidential elections are set to take place in November 2024 and a left-leaning info program would be a great avenue for young voters.
Also, the fact that Hasan is the only Indian-American, and a rare non-white face in this industry of news based programs is playing a part.
The show completed 2 years and 39 episodes in 6 seasons, all of which have garnered enormous support from the public and critics alike.
It’s definitely odd that such a successful and fan-favorite show has not been given the green light while naive and childish movies keep getting renewed on the same platform.
