Pretty Little Liars is a teen mystery, crime-filled drama. The drama’s finale season achieved as one of the highest viewer rating. The story seems adapted from a novel which goes by the same name as the drama, but written by Sara Shepard. The show aired from June 8, 2010 to June 27, 2017, on ABC Network and Freeform. It consists of 6 seasons, totalling up to 160 episodes.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, the reboot, will have Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa as the writer and executive producer. Roberto has written and produced internationally big shows like Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Here he works with Lindsay Calhoon Bring, a co-writer with Robert, in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
The writers reported that they have followed this drama and are a fan of the cast and story. They praised Marlene King for her efforts for this drama. They also mentioned that in the new Pretty Little Liars, they wanted to keep the original alive and add some more twist to it along the way. And hence, the drama seems to be filled with exciting and surprising elements.
Robert denoted the reboot as a, “horror-tinged, coming-of-rage ‘version of PLL “set miles away from Rosewood.”
Pretty Little Liars revolves around an event that happened twenty years ago, in a town called Millwood. In the present, the towns teen girls are a group of Little Liars. The group mainly consists of five girls. A mysterious person tries torturing the children to get the karma their parents deserved from twenty years ago. Liars’ leader goes missing. The girls set out to look after their parents’ past deeds, without their involvement in solving the mystery.

The new spin-off will air on a different platform than before. It originally aired on ABC and Freeform. But this time HBO Max has decided to screen the latest version.
The release date remains unknown, but the official statement will get out soon.
