Class of 83 trailer: Bobby Deol’s Netflix film is about encounter killings.

Netflix India on Friday released the trailer for Class of 83, an upcoming police drama featuring Bobby Deol and produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie, directed by Atul Sabharwal, is scheduled for an August 21 release on the streaming platform.

 

Bobby plays a courageous former policeman in the film, who has been reassigned as an educator at the Nashik police foundation. Spotting youthful ability yet mindful of the formality that his role is obstructed by, Bobby’s character assembles a secretive team that performs encounter killings. “Sometimes, to enforce order, law must be sacrificed,” a character says in the trailer.

The film marks Red Chillies’ third joint effort with Netflix, following the shows Bard of Blood and Betaal. It denotes Bobby’s arrival to a lead role after quite a while. The entertainer had said in an announcement on Thursday, “When Atul Sabharwal (chief) and Red Chillies Entertainment came to me, I was drawn by the power and profundity of the character and knew immediately that I must be a part of Class Of 83. It is my first endeavor on digital platforms and it additionally happens to be the first film by RCE and Netflix together. It is an energizing and provoking opportunity to be an actor, and I am very excited that everybody gets the chance to see the trailer tomorrow and the film on August 21.”

 

Plot & Cast of Class of ’83

Class of 83 additionally stars Annup Soni, Joy Sengupta, Ninad Mahajani, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Bhupendra Jadawat, Sameer Paranjape, Hitesh Bhojraj and Prithvik Pratap.

The trailer says the story is “motivated by the genuine story of the officials of the law”. Bobby’s character here is doing fighting with his past, which gives him a horrifying backstory.

While we have seen comparative stories in Bollywood beforehand, this Red Chillies Entertainment film has all the earmarks of being smooth. From the trailer, it seems like the film is endeavoring to legitimize police mercilessness where the officials of the law are moreover the definitive components who can execute anyone they accept has done a crime.

Netflix India as of late released Choked, directed by Anurag Kashyap, the Anushka Sharma-produced dream drama Bulbbul, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s noir riddle Raat Akeli Hai, and is preparing for the arrival of the biopic Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, featuring Janhvi Kapoor.
