When Will The Witches Return?
The first season aired in the UK on Sky One on September 14, 2018, which was eight episodes long. In November 2018, Sky One renewed it for A Discovery of Witches Season 2 and Season 3. The makers will adapt the upcoming seasons from Shadow of Night and Book of Life. There were expectations that Season 2 might air in 2024, but has faced delay due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. We hope that it might release soon. As of now, the makers have made no announcement regarding the release date.
A Discovery Of Witches: Plot
A brilliant historian Diana Bishop is a witch who refuses her own heritage. However, one day she unexpectedly calls up an ancient, enchanted composition from the Bodleian Library of Oxford. It was the one that was thought by the creatures to be lost and could answer the mysteries of their existence. At that instance, Diana finds out that she is hurdled deep into a treacherous mystery and into the path of the cryptic geneticist and vampire, Matthew Clairmont. Matthew is driven to solve the looming threat of the extinction of creatures. But their agreement to find the book before it falls into the wrong hands along with their deepening relationship, threatens to violate the age-old prohibitions and shake the fragile peace that exists between the species.

A Discovery of Witches Season 2 will have ten episodes. It will follow the romantic tale of Diana and Matthew in the sixteenth century. Additionally, it will display the life of Sarah and Emily. Diana and Mattew seem to hide in a witchy world of Elizabethan London. There they might find a witch teacher who might help Diana to control her magic. Also, they will look for the mysterious Book of Life.

Warner Bros. purchased the film rights of A Discovery of Witches in 2011. Sky One, the British entertainment channel, bought the rights to adapt the books into a TV series. Many scenes were filmed in Wales at the location and Bad Wolf studios in Cardiff. Sky One renewed it for A Discovery of Witches Season 2 and 3 even before the finale of the first season was broadcast. In December 2019, the team announced the conclusion of filming in the UK. The team will carry out rest of the filming in Italy.
The show received high appreciation and a warm welcome from the audience. Also, the critics rated it positively. The performance of the cast well justified the story adaption from books. Also, the show received nominations for many awards.
