Hike in price of PS4?

With an increase in the demand for the previous versions of Play Station, i.e., PS4, SONY hiked its prices. Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) consoles have now become more expensive in India. With almost a price hike of Rs 2,000 of the PS4 Slim and a hike of Rs. 1,720 of PS pro. Since the play station is a part of non-essential items, they aren’t available for purchase online due to the coronavirus lockdown. Sony confirmed the new pricing of the consoles after a hike on its official website.

A spokesperson for Sony responded about the pricing changes and said: “Few retailers prefer to sell the product with hikes in pricing to push sales during the current situation of lockdown and as per request same is shared with them.”

The sony spokesperson also stated: “This being a promotional offer and not an MRP change; hence website price remains at MRP.”

As per the insider sources, the reason for the change in prices of PS4 by Sony as the initial cost was only until the promotional period of the console. The report also confirms a new bundle is going to be introduced in India under the category of the PS Slim called the PS4 Mega Pack.

Initially, the price of the Sony PS4 Slim in India was Rs. 27,990. Now it is hiked by two thousand rupees, and the new price is Rs 29,990. Similarly, PS4 Pro’s price was Rs. 36,990, which is now up to Rs. 36,990 for the 1TB models.

The new pricing includes all taxes, is available in detail on Sony’s India website. These consoles are neither available to order nor deliverable because of the nation-wide lockdown. Although, these The PS4 console’s prices are the same, they were before on all of the e-commerce websites like Amazon or Flipkart.
