With the shakedown of the show Real Housewives of New York City, the cast is leaving one by one. With announcing the departure, Dorinda Medley left after her 6th season.
On August 25, Medley shocked her fans when she posted her leave for the Bravo developed show RHONY on Instagram, saying, “What a journey it has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to make it Nice…”
Medley joined the series as a guest character, in 2011, later after four years she got a permanent role. After losing her husband, she tried to move on and try to express herself with joining the series. “I’ve met many interesting people and learned much about myself, about life and women along the way,” Medley stated.
“But all things must come to an end,” Medley said. She had suffered enough, with the loss of her husband, Hanna leaving the family, breaking up with her boyfriend John, and remodeling the fish room. The decision was agreed by the creators and the team to give her time and energy to heal, and have a happy life further in life.
In Season 11 of Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel left the show. “Every woman in this world wears a little sparkle, some in their dress, and some in their eyes,” Frankel said after hearing Medley’s departure. Being optimistic about her leave, she states, “Use each moment to make another’s eyes sparkle and to warm a heart. Don’t let anyone or anything dull your sparkle. Don’t let the insecurities of others dull your sparkle. You will be missed…let the next chapter of #RHONY begin”.
The producer and writer Andy Cohen commented on Medley’s post, “What a ride, Unforgettable” as a tribute to her role.
