Selena: The Series is coming to the streaming service after a long time of anticipation & waiting. However, the reason why this has extra interest behind it is due to the association with a real person. The show is a Biographical series following the life of Late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla and her struggles to stardom.
Also, an interesting aspect of the 5-episode series is to depict the life of such a popular figure. Often, such projects leave honesty to the side and focus on getting the maximum juice out of the basic plot. However, the creators know that the life of this personality can be told sincerely and not sacrifice entertainment value.

There’s no need to speculate any further for a date confirmation as the official announcement has come. Selena: The Series will start streaming on the streaming service from December 4th, 2024. It’s a very significant addition in the quality catalogue of the popular directory. However, another USP is the fact that the show features original languages, that is Spanish and English.
The Global Pandemic was also a major reason why this project was continuously getting delays here and there.
While it’s a normal timing of release, this also falls around the singers 25th death anniversary. It’s special for those who’re looking towards the release as well as the fans of hers and her music.
Who’s leading the cast and playing the title character?
Christian Serratos is the chosen one to helm this project from the front. The 30-year-old is getting a potential career-defining chance with this iconic character. She reflects those same emotions in a recent interview as well:-
“Whenever I would talk about Selena, that was the video I showed every one of her,I was able to perform that song on the show, and I was so nervous and so excited! I didn’t want to speak to anyone because that was my special moment with her. It was really incredible!”
This does point to the fact that the actor is trying her best to flesh out the life of the character, however, like any other figure of prominence, she’ll be put in comparison to the real Selena.
