After waiting for a very long time, the fans finally got to see the live-action version of Locke and Key on Netflix. The show is run by Meredith Averill ( The Haunting of Hill House)and Carlton Cuse (Lost).
It is undeniable that they cannot put all the instances from page to screen. They have given their best shot at doing that. But, still, if we look at the ending of Season 1, we can see that the show has left a room for discussion.
In the next season, we can talk about the fates of a lot of characters of the show.
With some of the finale twists of Locke and Key, they have tried to keep the comic book element alive while the rest of them are the imagination of the makers of the show.
These twists have kept the door open for the Season 2 plot, which will reveal a lot of information about the Keyhouse. So without any delay, let’s discuss the fates of some prominent characters of Locke and Key.
What is the fate of Ellie Whedon in Locke and Key?
When we talk about the characters of Locke and Key, we can say that each of them has secrets that are worth making a series. One such name is Ellie Whedon. She was a person with a ton of dangerous and mysterious secrets to hold. For starters, she was letting the evil echo Dodge to stay at her home in the form of her young boyfriend, Lucas.
If we expect anyone from the Locke and Key characters to know the danger in engaging with such an evil soul, it is Ellie. But, at this point, she was the one protecting it. She has seen and experienced the powers and damages of the keys and their magic.
As we saw, this foolish behavior of In Ellie ended up trapping her in the ethos. No one knows whether she can come back or not.
Dodge is a brilliant echo, and as soon as she saw the Crown of Shadows come to life, she took the Identity Key and switched herself with Ellie. So, Kinsey and the rest of the team misunderstood her for Dodge and pushed her out of the Omega Door.
Now, for a fact, the makers have not shown what happens to a person after going through Omega Door. So we cannot confirm that the person is dead. This is why we cannot precisely predict the fate of Ellie in Season 2 of Locke and Key. We hope her son Rufus will try and find her.
What will happen to Dodge in Season 2?
Dodge being the main antagonist of Locke & Key, enjoys the chaos that she is causing in the lives of the people. She is a cold and calculating monster with no sympathies or emotions.
Dodge had a transition in her character about three times in the entire season. She started as Well Lady; then, she came as evil echo Dodge, then she took the form of Lucas to take advantage.
From the beginning, everyone saw the mind games that she played to get the magical keys and do what she wants. To stay at this place, she used the identity key to take the form of Gabe, Kinsey’s friend.
Gabe’s actions throughout the first season made a lot more sense when the makers revealed that she was Dodge in that form.
As a part of taking the keys, she took active participation in tossing Ellie off the Omega Door. The only problem with her since day one is that she can’t snatch those keys from any member of Locke Family.
What is the fate for Eden Hawkins in Locke and Key Season 2?
She was one of the characters who were there to be hateful and stuck-up. But, if we look at her, she is the one who is one of the biggest victims of Locke and Key. She was totally at fault for exiting Scot’s movie, but she did not deserve what Kinsey and Gabe did to her using the Music Box Key.
Even though she did not directly provoke Kinsey’s fear, she was attacked by it. Even after suffering so much, she was there to help the Locke kids to open the Omega Door to toss Dodge. But what good did that do? She was hit by one of the Omega Bullet and which in the past turned Lucas into Dodge during Rendell Locke’s teen years.
Now, the fans have to wait and watch that, if Eden will also turn evil like Dodge, or will she have some different changes in her. Now, after seeing this, we surely know that Eden will have a vital role in Season 2, especially in the life of Kinsey.
What will happen to Sam Lesser in Season 2?
As of now, in Season 1, Sam Lesser was the secondary antagonist with Dodge, who was helping her throughout. He was the one who helped her kill Rendell to attain the Omega Key, which was inside his head the whole time.
He came to the Keyhouse and held Nina, Kinsey, and Bode hostage until Tyler came and beat the crap out of him. Later, Sam was attacked by Kinsey’s anger from the grave, but he managed to return safely to Keyhouse. Tyler then used the head key and met Sam’s true self, who was not possessed by Dodge.
But, this did not work as when Tyler came out of his head, he got the Head Key, which Dodge took from him forcefully by stabbing him. And the worst part is, Sam could have died naturally from the stab wound.
But, while the police were chasing him, he ran into the ghost door, which Bode accidentally kept open, and he got trapped there. Still, we can’t hope that he is gone forever, because no one goes forever in this show. He may return with a new part in Season 2.
Locke and Key will surely return with Season 2 for unveiling all the mysteries of Season 1. Till then, all the fans can catch it’s Season 1 on Netflix.
