Officially, the 2020-21 NBA season has ended. We are very proud of Giannis Antitokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks, and their victory over a 2-0 deficit at the 2024 NBA Finals. They won the first NBA title in 50-years. It is a never-ending league, and the people are curious to look ahead to the 2024-22 season. The playoffs are just around the corner, so it is an excellent time to make predictions and share the hot takes.
Who Are The Contenders For The 2024 NBA Championship?
The 2024 NBA Championship competition is expected to be fierce. The Milwaukee Bucks are a solid contender to win again. Still, veteran teams like the Brooklyn Nets or Golden State Warriors have the potential to claim the Larry O’Brien Trophy for themselves. Let’s have an in-depth look at the top candidates for the 2024 NBA league. To know more NBA odds and bettings, check out FanDuel.
-
Brooklyn Nets (+475 )
Leading Performers: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving
Head Trainer: Steve Nash
Notable Team Additions: Patty Mills, James Johnson, Paul Millsap
This season, it seems that Brooklyn is ready to reach their full championship potential now that Durant has joined them for the third season. Although Kyrie Irving’s participation is still a concern, Brooklyn continues to be successful with Harden and Durant.
Although the Brooklyn Nets have been plagued by injury this season, they have not lost their momentum. The Nets’ passing skills and ability to find open shots to support their role players are the best in the league, despite the threat from Durant and Harden.
The Nets’ success is not without its problems. Kyrie Irving’s status remains a sticking point. The Nets’ supporting cast is more than willing to support their star players, even if they are unavailable. The Nets’ problem is not talent but health. Brooklyn is a tough team to beat if all the players are available.
-
Golden State Warriors (+450 )
Leading Performers: Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins
Head Trainer: Steve Kerr
Notable Team Additions: Jonathan Kuminga, Gary Payton II, Otto Porter
After one disappointing season, the public was quick to overlook the Golden State Warriors’ talents. In their first game, the Warriors showed the league their talent with Stephen Curry’s outstanding performance and the progress made by Andrew Wiggins.
The Warriors are constantly a threat in offensive play, mainly because of Stephen Curry’s excellent shooting and passing skills. It’s silly to raise any question about Stephen Curry’s capability to guide a team towards a playoff win now that the Warriors are among the best in the NBA. We could witness the revival of a dynasty if Klay Thompson or James Wiseman are healthy and fit by the playoffs.
-
Phoenix Suns (+380)
Leading Performers: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton
Head Trainer: Monty Williams
Notable Team Additions: Javale McGee, Landry Shamet, Elfrid Payton
The Phoenix Suns were the runner-up team for last year. They are proud to have Devin Booker and Chris Paul, two of the most offensively gifted performers in the league. However, their success is mainly due to their defence. The Suns are the league’s second-best defence and have the most talented point guard playmaking.
Phoenix has proven they are in the top echelon for the Western Conference through the first half. It isn’t easy to pick them against as a contender for the NBA Championship. The Suns may not be the long shot many believe they are with a weak Western Conference and a Finals-experienced team.
-
Milwaukee Bucks (+750 )
Main Performers: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday
Head Trainer: Mike Budenholzer
Notable Team Additions: Grayson Allen, George Hill, Rodney Hood
The Milwaukee Bucks aren’t any weaker than in their previous season, but they don’t appear firmer. The Bucks’ offseason is defined by who they cannot keep, despite some minor moves in the market.
The Bucks remain a formidable defensive team with the league’s fifth-best three-point defence. They lost Brook Lopez to injury, but Bobby Portis has taken his place. Although Milwaukee isn’t a very resonant team, Antetokounmpo offers many “plug and play” opportunities.
Milwaukee is a great choice to win the NBA title. They are the reigning NBA champions, and they also compete in an Eastern Conference with the heavy competition that should make it easy for them to win – at least until they reach the Conference Finals.
Who Is At Risk Of Missing The 2024 Nba Playoffs?
Here is a list of teams that could be in danger of missing out on the 2024 NBA playoffs.
-
Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers were the preseason favourites to win the 2024 NBA Finals. We’re now referring to the Lakers as one of the teams that could be eliminated from the playoffs. Los Angeles’ biggest problem has been finding consistency. They beat 6 out of 8 matches in November and December and 5 out of 6 in December. They followed that up with losing streaks.
The Lakers won their last consecutive game in January during that stretch. LeBron James is not the reason for the Lakers’ troubles as he plays at an elite level. Anthony Davis isn’t able to keep his health in good shape. A knee injury caused him to miss time in the previous season. He will be out for four weeks due to a foot injury.
-
Washington Wizards (-350)
Do you remember the Washington Wizards were a great team to back in the NBA playoffs? But unluckily, this didn’t last anymore. They fell to.500 mid-December but maintained their position next month. They were still in playoff contention but lost 10 of the next 14 games to close out the first half. But, it is predicted that they cannot beat teams like the Toronto Raptors or Brooklyn Nets in the 2024 league.
Bottom line
These are our NBA 2024 playoff predictions. We don’t see many surprises at the top of the Western Conference. Some seeding could be changed in the Eastern Conference. The play-in tournaments in both conferences could be a great source of excitement. This will have a significant impact on NBA playoff betting. In the next two months, bettors will have a lot of fun predicting who will make it to the 2024 NBA playoffs.
