As per reports, Disneyland and California Adventure are planning to re-open their doors to the public again. They are thinking of starting on July 17th.
This is happening just after six days of reopening of Disney World in Florida. Also, Downtown Disney is ready to reopen on July 9th, and the hotels are aiming to open by July 23rd.
Both the parks along with the Orlando location, have been shut since the middle of March for obvious reasons. Although cases in California are not decreasing, the Walt Disney Company thinks that next month is suitable for public gatherings.
Will the Disneyland surely re-open?
Even if Disneyland is all set to re-open on July 17th, this cannot happen till the state of California, and the city of Anaheim gives the official permission.
Even if Disneyland and California Adventure manage to reopen next month, both the parks will have a “limited” capacity. This will be “manage through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance.”
What are the safety measures taken for the public?
As per reports, Shanghai Disneyland opened a few weeks ago and immediately sold out of nearly a whole week’s worth of reservations. Also, the most crucial part is, strict health and safety measures are being taken this time.
Temperature checks before entering the park, a mandatory mask, staggered parking, social distancing lines, and more.
Although cashless payments will be preferred, but we all know Disney is know for hemorrhaging money for months, so they will take whatever money they can.
As per reports, for safety purposes, the parades and character meet and will be avoided. It will be truly amazing to see what will happen to the annual pass holders.
How will the re-opening of Disneyland affect other business?
It is a fact that if the state of California and the city of Anaheim allow Disneyland and California Adventure to open, it will be only a matter of time before Universal will reopen, then Knott’s Berry Farm, and then Magic Mountain.
Also, local fairs may consider opening up this summer too. All we know for now is that Disney fans will have to wait and see what the local officials have to say about opening up one of the biggest theme parks in the world.
