The Novel-"The Westing Game" is the story of another adapted movie coming to a streaming service.

The Westing Game seems to be just another novel on the block that’s attracting interest. Currently, there appears to be a trend of streaming services trying to pick up classic books and adapting them. However, the novel that we’re discussing isn’t just another novel.

Penned down by Ellen Raskin the book was initially published back in 1978 and became a sensation. Age of this story is now almost Forty-Two-years-old, and that’s a big challenge to revamp the plot.

If people had to pick a genre that’s been very successful in this era, it would be Mystery. HBO Max is undoubtedly getting a safe bet if not a sure-shot success with the procurement of this classic novel.

Fitting a 1978 story in the environment of the modern age competition will be very interesting.

Status of this streaming service procurement:-

Ellen Raskin’s Mystery The Westing Game is now officially announced as the latest project for the talented people at HBO Max.

However, HBO is not going to sponsor and produce the series hands-on. They invited MGM/UA for a script-to-series order for this adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel. Moreover, the next step is to begin all the pre-production after deciding on who helms the project. Choice of the director and the executive producers is not out in the public eye yet.

Although we are short on information as of right now, we surely will progress soon. Also, Cast of this plot will be huge with so many characters.

Plot of the classic novel from the late 1970s:-

The novel inspiring the series, begins with the unfortunate death of Samuel Westing. He was mysterious and often grim millionaire. A complex Puzzled maze is what that will look like. This basic fault in the will bring a lot of the primary throughline of the story. It ends up getting together four pairs of tenants in an apartment building to compete against each other and claim the inheritance. However, with Sixteen applicants in a room running after money, chaos erupts.

The plotline might seem like another piece of content that came out recently. Yes, we are talking about the same lazy summary of Knives Out, but this one’s different.

Once the series comes out, all doubts will be cleared, and all qualms will be put to bed. Let’s hope that HBO recruits the right people for the job.
