The sequel Avatar has been on our wait-list for a long time now. Recently, the producer of Avatar 2 has given out some details about the plot of the movie. The producer of the movie, Jon Landau has shared some details about Avatar 2 which has resumed filming. Just like most of the movies and series, it was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The director of the movie, James Cameron is also producing it with Landau. Here’s what Jon posted on his Instagram account recently.


In the caption, he has described “The Matador” which is a high speed forward command vessel. Also, another jet boat called “The Picador” has been mentioned by him. The sets of Avatar 2 look so dreamy and interesting! We wonder how awesome this will look on the screen.

The team’s safety measures

Jon has been keeping all the Avatar fans updated about the process. They reached New Zealand on May 31st and started their 14-day quarantine. Then, he shared the news that every person from the team has tested negative after the isolation. With everything going great, the team is busy with full-fledged preparations for Avatar 2.

Yesterday, Jon shared a picture of their first shot on the first day of the shoot. The team has been taking strict safety measures from the beginning with government-supervised isolation. Here’s the picture of the first shot posted by Jon.

Avatar 2 release date and new cast details

The film is set to release on December 17, 2023. But, it might face some delays as the filming was stopped due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, as per the official announcement, there will be two more sequels in the franchise after the release of the second part. Currently, the next two films will release on December 19, 2025 and December 17, 2027, respectively.

Some revelations about the new cast members in Avatar 2 have also been made recently. Reportedly, the new cast additions include Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Cowell, Oona Chaplin, Jemaine Clement, and CJ Jones.
